MIT Paving Implementation Group Update

The MIT Paving Implementation Group met via conference call last week. Comprised of cement companies; staff representatives of ACPA, PCA and NRMCA; and consultants, the group goal is to ensure that MIT research and data modeling are used effectively to promote the use of concrete pavements at the state and local levels.

Scott Mueller and Leif Wathne are leading the initiative from the ACPA team nationally, and Todd LaTorella is representing the ACPA Chapter/State Group.

“We are currently focused on five states—Ohio, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and North Dakota—as these states all have individual needs for which the data and programming will help leverage concrete pavements,” Scott says. “Our goal is to ensure a level playing field so that concrete has the best opportunity to be successful.”
