County Engineers Pivot Annual Conference to Virtual Format

The National Association of County Engineers (NACE) announced recently that it has pivoted its annual conference to a virtual event. ACPA national and chapter representatives (along with PCA) will participate in the event through a virtual exhibit.

Scheduled for April 19-22, NACE Virtual 2021 is a three-day interactive virtual event that is designed to deliver a conference experience without the added expense and logistics of travel. There will also be a virtual exhibit experience and several ways to learn from NACE’s diverse corporate members.  The dedicated exhibit hours will be Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. (EDT) and 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. (EDT). ACPA will seek input from Chapters and will work with PCA to create a virtual exhibit.

In addition to the virtual exhibit, NACE is planning a full roster of speakers, who will share their presentations via webinars. Participants can choose from five conference tracks and may earn PDH credits for their participation. In addition, the sessions will be hosted in an on-demand library, which will allow 24/7 access for 30 days after the conference.

Of special interest to the concrete pavement industry will be presentation on the FHWA’s Every Day Counts-6 Targeted Overlay Pavement Solutions (TOPS) initiative, as well as a presentation on pavement preservation, “Sustainable Pavement Using RAP.” Kicking off the event on April 19th will be NACE Chairman Scott McGolpin, Public Works Director for Santa Barbara County, CA. The keynote speaker will be Congressman Salud Carabajal (CA-D-24), a member of the House T&I Committee.

The event provides an opportunity to network with infrastructure professionals and through virtual exhibits featuring the latest and best products, trends, knowledge, and expertise in the industry. NACE also announced the 2022 conference will be held April 24-27, 2022, at a venue to be determined in Erie County (Buffalo), NY.
